Football report:

Friday the 24th of April, the football team in Year 5 went down to Henllys School to play a game of football. The team warmed up Thomas(c), Iestyn, Gareth, Ethan, Carl, Ieuan, Lloyd, Rhys and Abbie. They passed round to each other and used their shooting skills. Then they streched to make sure that all their muscles were warm. After stretching we passed to each other again.

Henllys had the kickoff and then the game started ( FINALLY! HOORAY! ). Ieuan tackled one of Henllys‘ players and started running with the ball as fast as his feet would take him then he crossed the ball! Unfortunately, the ball flew over the goal! Henllys’ goalkeeper kicked the ball straight at Iestyn like a mad donkey! Then Iestyn ran like a leopard down the wing, he passed quickly to Thomas and he shot. GOAL! WOW! 1-0

Next, the second kickoff and the Henllys team started running down the middle and shot directly at the goal! Gareth stopped the goal fantastically! Gareth kicked the ball to Iestyn but a player from Henllys jumped up like a kangaroo and stole the ball off Iestyn. He shot at our goal. OH NO GOAL! 1-1!

We started with Ethan, he passed the ball to Iestyn and Iestyn passed to Thomas. Thomas lost the ball and Henllys passed to their players, they ran down the wing but Rhys tackled them and he won the ball. He passed to Iestyn then when the ball was in the air, Ethan shot at the Henllys goal. AN EXTRAORDINARY GOAL! 2-1

Sam passed to Jimmy and Jimmy had a kick at our goal. But Gareth sadly couldn’t have reached the ball. A big shame! But Mr Rock said don’t worry keep your heads up. OH NO! 2-2. Iestyn scored the next goal by shooting like Christiano Ronaldo into the top corner of the goal. HALF TIME! The best goal of the game. HOOORAY! WELL DONE IESTYN! 3-2

Carl came on instead of Lloyd. Iestyn ran through the middle and shot like a bullet into the goal! GOOOOOOOOOOOAL! 4-2

Tom passed the ball to Iestyn and Iestyn shot to the right side of the goal keeper. Iestyn celebrated like Joe Ledley flying like a bluebird. In the last ten minutes Abbie came on. That’s it the whistle went! Mr Rock was smiling from ear to ear! Rhys was the star of the game.
