Proposed Strike Action:
13th March 2014
You may be aware that the NUT has announced that its members have voted in favour of a one day strike on Wednesday the 26th of March.
UCAC (National Union of Teachers in Wales) had initially announced that they were going to strike but now have cancelled this action.
There are still implications for Ysgol Gymraeg Cwmbrân.
If the strike goes ahead, the only pupils who should attend school on Wednesday will be:
Nursery (morning and afternoon)
The following classes – Miss E Owen (Reception),
Mrs Rh Sennitt (Reception/Y1),
Miss M Jones (Y2),
Miss Heledd Williams (Y3),
Miss Hazel Williams (Y4),
Mr S Rock (Y5/4)
and Miss M Owen (Y4/3).
In order to follow both strike and health and safety regulations, children from classes not listed who attend school will have to be sent home as there will be no staff available to supervise pupils.
The purpose of this letter is to raise your awareness in order that you have time to make alternative arrangements for appropriate childcare. If no strike action takes place, I will inform you immediately.
Unfortunately, we will be unable to use other members of staff to cover on that day.
There is a possibility that the whole strike will be cancelled. I will update you with any news as soon as I know.
Thank you for your co-operation.
