Teeth Brushing Challenge:

Teeth Brushing Challenge:

10th November 2017

Tonight, the pupils will receive a letter about our teeth brushing challenge next week:

Following the year 5 and 6 trip to Cilfynydd Water Center, next week, each class will be taking part in a water saving challenge whilst brushing their teeth.

Here is a copy of the letter, by Amelia and Charlotte:

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I am writing to you today to inform you of a big problem which exists all around us — water wastage. Recently, year 5 and 6 pupils visited a Water Centre in Cilfynydd and we saw first hand how much water goes to waste.

As a school, we want to help save our environment by not wasting water. How do we not waste water? First, you can turn the tap off whilst cleaning your teeth. Lots of people leave the tap on whilst cleaning their teeth and, as you can imagine, a lot of water is wasted this way. (Up to 200 gallons a month for each person) We’re asking you kindly to please turn the tap off whilst cleaning your teeth. If you clean your teeth for 2 minutes and leave the tap on, then you’re wasting 2 minutes worth of water which is a lot of water.

Next week, there will be someone in each class responsible for asking the pupils each day if they have turned the tap off whilst cleaning their teeth in the morning and at night. We will be keeping a record from each class and sending it to Dwr Cymru. Good luck to everyone and thanks in advance for your help.

Diolch / Thank you, Amelia Ellis and Charlotte Sweeting.

Thank you for your help in advance! Diolch.
