Music lessons at Ysgol Gymraeg Cwmbrân:

With the introduction of Curriculum for Wales, it is vital that all pupils have a broad and balanced curriculum and we have made the Expressive Arts a priority for this term. We have ensured that all pupils in the school will receive specialised music lessons and they are as follows:

All Foundation Phase children (nursery to year 2) are now having Ffa La La music and creative sessions every Tuesday.

Year 2 children (Mr Arlotte's class) have started their violin lessons with Gwent Music on a Friday and these will remain for a term and a half. Miss Morris' year 2 class will then receive these lessons for the remainder of the year.

As part of the new National Plan for Music Education, every year 3 pupil in Wales is being offered the opportunity to learn the pBuzz free of charge for one term and these lessons will start this Wednesday with Gwent Music.

Year 3 and 4 pupils will receive glockenspiel lessons with Torfaen Music from this Friday onwards.

Year 5 and 6 pupils have already started their drumming lessons with Upbeat and these lessons will continue every Thursday for the year.

Individual tuition for Key Stage 2 pupils is also available in the school with teachers from Gwent Music. These cost £50 a term and, if you would like your child to receive these lessons, please contact the school office.
